Delivery Windows

A delivery window is a date range you expect shipments to arrive (e.g. “Aug 15 – Sep 1, 2025” for early Pre-Fall deliveries). Buying orders get assigned to a delivery window so you can track flow into the store.

When to use
Set up at the start of a buying season — typically 4–8 windows per season covering the expected shipping calendar.

What a window contains

Name”Pre-Fall Early”Friendly label
Start date2025-08-15Earliest expected arrival
End date2025-09-01Latest expected arrival

Windows can overlap — that’s fine.

Setting up windows for a season

  1. Settings → Delivery Windows
  2. Click New Window
  3. Fill in name, dates, buying season
  4. Save

A typical Pre-Fall might have:

  • Pre-Fall Early (Aug 15 – Sep 1)
  • Pre-Fall Mid (Sep 1 – Sep 20)
  • Pre-Fall Late (Sep 20 – Oct 15)
  • Pre-Fall Reorders (Oct 15 – Nov 15)

You pick this granularity. Some buyers prefer weekly windows, some monthly. Match it to how you actually think about the calendar.

Visual calendar

The Delivery Windows page shows a calendar view:

  • Each window is a colored band on the date axis
  • Orders assigned to each window appear as items inside the band
  • Total dollars per window roll up

Helpful for spotting:

  • Weeks with too much inflow (warehouse capacity)
  • Weeks with no inflow (storefront looks stale)

Assigning orders to windows

Done at order creation — Build Order asks for the delivery window. See Build Order Stage 1.

To reassign after the fact:

  1. Open the order
  2. Click the delivery window badge in the header
  3. Pick from dropdown
  4. Saves immediately

Common mistakes

Too few windows
If the entire season is one window, you lose all granularity. Use 4–8 windows per season minimum.

Too many windows
20+ windows per season is overkill — you’ll spend more time picking the right one than the data is worth. 4–8 is the sweet spot.

Letting windows lapse
If the window closed and you haven’t received the shipment, the order will show as “overdue”. Either receive (if it actually arrived) or move it to a later window.
